Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m reading: Sacred Cow: Diane Rodgers and Robb Wolf  Humankind: A Hopeful History Something I Tried: On Friday, I did a recovery session with my mom as we practiced some breathwork techniques and yoga. We started off with a 15 minute session of Ujjayi breathing and modified Nadi Shodhana Pranayama (alternate nostril breathwork). We finished up with 30 minutes of yoga. I posted the breathwork and yoga session exclusively for our Dreamland members. You can also get access to this recovery session by becoming a premium member. CGM Data: I’ve been keeping up… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (9/13/2020)

Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m reading: Sacred Cow: Diane Rodgers and Robb Wolf  Humankind: A Hopeful History Product I’m trying: Lynn’s Life Bread – This is a keto/paleo bread that I bought and it tastes great. The only thing I didn’t like was probably the pumpkin seeds in there, but that wasn’t a major issue. And this was CGM tested and confirmed not to spike blood sugar. Raw Egg Yolks – Ha. This one was inspired by Geoffrey Woo, CEO of HVMN, doing it on the fasting episode of the (Un)Well show on Netflix. My Lynn’s Life… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (9/6/2020)

Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m reading: Breaking Hate: Confronting the New Culture of Extremism – Christian Picciolini: I had recently read some articles by Christian Picciolini, a former white supremacist turned anti-racism activist, on NPR and The Atlantic. I find his perspective an interesting insight into how racism is formed and perpetuated amongst. Sacred Cow: Diane Rodgers and Robb Wolf – This one is an important read on the power of regenerative agriculture and the mistruths spread about consuming less meat. Me Talk Pretty One Day – David Sedaris Humankind: A Hopeful History Product I’m trying: Sfuels… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (8/30/2020)

Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m Reading: Me Talk Pretty One Day – David Sedaris Humankind: A Hopeful History Strength in Stillness: The Power of Transcendental Meditation – Bob Roth A 48 Hour Fast! I had to switch up my training this week due to the current air conditions, and opted to skip my long distance run and to do a 48 hour fast, while tracking my blood glucose levels with a CGM instead. I wrote about my 2-Day Water Fast wearing a CGM here. I found this interview to be a very helpful guide: Dr. Peter Attia… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: (8/23/2020)

Coach Ian – Week in Review: What I’m looking into: Levels Health: As many of you know, I’ve been experimenting with a CGM (continuous glucose monitor) to track my blood sugar levels throughout the day, tracking how it changes in response to stress, HIIT training, steady-state cardio, nutrition, fasting, and more. Well, Levels Health (not publicly available yet) has an app that monitors that data and assigns you a “metabolic health score”. It is really interesting to see this kind of data being use for athletic performance and overall health, rather than in response to metabolic dysfunction. With these analytics,… Read More »Coach Ian – Week In Review: 08/16/2020
