Wow. My first night race wasn’t easy – still had to deal with the heat! The Bangkok Marathon is the biggest race in Thailand and attracted over 55,000 participants (across all distances) in 2015. The marathon starts at midnight, the half I did started at 2AM, and there are shorter distances that started after I finished. The start and end of the race is located on Sanam Chai (“field of prosperity”) Road in front of the Grand Palace (pictured in the background), the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the Ministry of Defence. Wasn’t expecting this race to be as big as it was – glad I did it! ??
